Now days when I close my eyes I see so many faces, at the same time.  The hundreds of faces I see when I sit and submit time to Facebook.  While this may read like I might be losing my mind, there is nothing further from the truth.  A friend invited me to join Facebook on a thursday.  I immediately assumed it was just another one of those social networks, (that I will not mention) where profiles are created with crazy, off the wall names and the thing most requested is a naked picture of yourself.  You really don't even know who you are communicating with.

But this being was such a good friend, an intelligent friend,  I gave credence to this Facebook invitation and followed through by clicking the link and then step by step with a click here and a click there, I was in.  "Welcome to Facebook".  I initially thought I would stop there and come back another day to build my profile and browse the site but must I confess, I was a bit intrigued even at this stage.  Something had me and I think it was the crisp, light, airy, format of the pages. The font, the color of the font, LOL!!!, now I can imagine I am sounding a little nuts but honestly, it was easy on the eyes and I had to share it with a friend to see if it had the same effect.  I checked my personal address book to see if there was someone in my address book that was already a member in, "The Face" as I have started calling it and to my surprise there were three.  Well, that added even more excitement.  I added them and they accepted and listen, I could go on and on but I don't want to bore you.

There is so much going on in Facebook.  There are so many intelligent people to meet and share with.  No one yet has asked me to show them my nakedness or offer to show me theirs.  Groups can be created for any topic you can think of thus allowing you to connect with same-minded people.  After all, you never know who you can help with something or vice versa just by being a part of a well organised network.  There is so much more than just fun and amusement to be found in Facebook.

It may seem laborious to get started and it may even seem overwhelming to navigate in the beginning but as you start to gather up friends and family, they will start to see what you are up to as well as your other friends and possibly find they have the same interests as one of your other friends and then they invite their friends and they see someone that seems like an interesting person and ....well I think you get my drift.  I was able to walk my sister through the start of her registration in Facebook and I had to do this because she has never been one to spend more time than absolutely necessary at the pewt.  She was impressed with the screening process and even poked me three times while we were on the phone.  With a few clicks here and there we can check on each other and see what's up in each other worlds, at least she can check on me here in Norway, all the way from sunny California.  I am not concerned at this point as to where the road ends because the possibilities to reach out to touch someone in a positive way should be endless.  I found an outstanding new web site when I joined Facebook that publishes the articles that I enjoy writing.  Yes, you guessed it, LOL!!!. 

So Facebook gets two thumbs up for sure, though I wonder if they can be seen through all the many hands belonging to all the many faces. 

Perhaps Facebook should have a theme song.....LOL!!!....Any takers?
