It's everything to me - Music is! PDF Print E-mail
Sharing thoughts about music and how it makes me feel is comparable to sitting down to a tall glass of cool, purified H2o, right after a morning jog on a trail lined with Willow Trees, Sunflowers and multi-colored Tulips.  Feeling such joy when writing songs  takes me to many atmospheres within and outside my mind, all of which whether happy or sad or gratifying.   Writing what you feel, plain and simple often without thrill or complicated thought will produce lyrics followed by a melody in your heart and from there you must just know that... Music is.

Opening my eyes to a morning where sunshine peaked through the curtains on windows that I had washed recently, that were still clean from the polishing of the glass.  I have always loved to rub on the glass until it was smooth and sparkling like a mirror.

As I walked into the kitchen to get that first cup of coffee, I noticed I was bobbing my head from side to side and had no idea why, at least not at that moment.  Laughing at myself for a few seconds I suddenly stopped and stood perfectly still in a quandry as to why my head was movin and groovin and all before even one sip of java, instant at that.

What came next to my surprise was a question that I asked myself out loud, LOL.  and it went like this:

What's that sound?
What's that sound?
What's that sound?
What do I hear in my head?
Sounds like music, music
and it's always there
When I close my eyes I night
I feel a rhythm in my heart
and I wake up every morning asking
What's that sound?

What's that, what's that sound
that fills me with delight?
What's that, what's that wonderful sound that feels so right?

When I close my eyes at night
I feel a rhythm in my heart
and I wake up every morning asking
What's that sound?

"What's That Sound", I am pleased to say is now a short but cool song that has been performed many times by many different vocalist.  I believe that each and every one of us has the capability to write a song.  Perhaps you are best suited to be a part of a duo or a team where one is best at lyrics and the other with melody and/or harmony.  If you've never done it before, give it a try.  You never know - a whole new world could open up for you.  And if you have written a song, you know the joy I am talking about.  Let's face it....Music is and to me It's Everything.
